You can make a difference in the preservation of Oregon’s historic resources by volunteering with the HPLO. Join one of our committees, or let us know of any special talents or interests that we could put to work in another area.
Advocacy Committee members work with the HPLO Regional Advisors, tracks and responds to local preservation opportunities around the state. Activities include research, policy recommendations, drafting testimony or letters of support, raising local support through publicity, and working with state legislators/heritage caucus.
The Fund Development Committee ensures sufficient financial resources to fund the activities of the HPLO. Develops and executes a development plan including membership drives, donor solicitation, grant requests, and fund raising events.
The task force spotlights the most significant at-risk properties across Oregon and supports their preservation and reuse. Activities include soliciting nominations, review and selection, publicity, and follow-up support.
This committee convenes a forum of differing perspectives to identify solutions to a tough preservation issue. Activities include identifying an annual topic, organizing and publicizing Roundtable event(s), researching and vetting solutions, and publication of a Special Report.
Help develop pertinent programs on preservation topics and manage the HPLO events. Activities include developing HPLO curriculum and coordinating program delivery.
